Emmie -- I overheard my father promise my hand in marriage to a man who is so cold I’m not sure he even has a heart. So I did what any young woman would do. I ran. My sister, Federal Agent Lupita Montoya, gave me sanctuary in the US and helped me file the proper paperwork so I could stay indefinitely. Now Lupita is in prison and my time is running out. My father and Ernesto will be coming for me. When Lupita sends me to the Dixie Reapers compound in Alabama, I know they’re my last hope. I just didn’t count on falling for one of them.

Tank -- The hot little Latina I’ve had my eye on for three weeks is in trouble, and the time for waiting is over. I thought I’d claim her, get those Spanish bastards to back off, but then she knocked me off my feet. Emmie is really Emelda Montoya, sister to the woman I chased around Christmas, and someone my club owes a debt. It makes Emmie hands off, but I’ve never been good at backing down, especially when I see something I want. And I want Emmie to be mine. She’s over a decade younger than me, but I’m not going to let something like age stand in my way, and I’m sure as hell not going to let her mobster father get between us. I’ll bury him if I have to, along with that sick bastard, Ernesto.

But the more digging my club does, the more twisted the tale becomes. For the first time in my life, I’m not sure we can handle the trouble that’s landed on our doorstep, but I will die trying to protect the woman I’m falling for, the woman I accidentally knocked up, the woman I call wife.

Warning: Contains some violence and some darker themes. If you’re looking for a sweet read, this isn’t it. There’s melt your panties sex and a biker who will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.

The new waitress at the diner was a cute thing, and familiar somehow. Her dark hair hung down her back in curls, nearly falling to her waist even with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. It was the first thing I’d noticed. The second had been the killer curves that would be more than a handful. I’d always had a thing for short, curvy women. Her skin was flawless, even though she looked overly tired with dark circles under her eyes. Fatigue seemed to be weighing her down, and I noticed she struggled to keep up. She’d popped up a few weeks ago, and I’d been here nearly every day since the first glimpse I’d had of her. It was her eyes that seemed so familiar.

“Isn’t she a little young for you?” Wire asked, nodding toward my obsession.

I shrugged. It was true enough, she didn’t look very old, and I preferred my women closer to thirty, if not older. Didn’t mean I couldn’t look. Woman with a body like that, it was really damn hard not to stare. I got hard just thinking about that perfect ass of hers, bent over as she begged to be fucked. I wondered if she was a screamer.

I wasn’t the only one noticing her. Several of the male customers checked her out. I’d even seen one try to grab her ass, but she’d managed to twist away. I’d been about two seconds from getting up and handling the situation, but she’d kept going like it hadn’t happened. Made me wonder if she dealt with that shit all the time, and it only pissed me off. I’d never condoned men taking what wasn’t offered. There was a difference in fucking a willing woman and trying to grab someone who didn’t want your attention. Some assholes learned that the hard way, usually after I’d put my fist through their face to teach them some manners.

My conscience pricked when I thought about Wraith’s woman, Rin. I’d nearly tossed her out on her ass the first night she’d appeared at our gates. If I’d done that, she’d be dead right now. I’d been an asshole to her, and I wasn’t proud of myself. At the time, I’d been hurting over a stupid cunt who had tried to trick me into staying with her, and I’d taken it out on poor Rin. Blair had been a complete bitch, but I hadn’t gotten away soon enough. I’d apologized to Rin for my behavior since then, but I knew Wraith wouldn’t forgive me anytime soon.

The petite waitress didn’t seem like the kind of woman who would string men along, unlike the woman I’d been seeing up until two years ago. I’d found out Blair had several stallions in her stable, confronted her about, and then she’d tried to trick me into believing I’d gotten her pregnant. I’d strung her along a little longer, until I could prove her to be a liar. She hadn’t soured me on women, though. Pissed me off good and proper, but I still got my dick wet at the clubhouse often enough. No, the woman who had fucked me over in my early twenties had soured me on relationships. Blair was my first attempt to be with a woman longer than a few days, and look how that had turned out.

The little Latina waitress had a name tag that said Emmie and the name was as cute as she was. My brothers had given me hell, telling me I should just ask her out. I was always careful not to sit in her section. I’d noticed the first time we’d come in after she’d been hired she froze when she saw us enter the diner. The blood had drained from her face, and I’d thought she might faint. It wasn’t the first time a woman had been afraid of us, and I doubted it would be the last. I knew I was more intimidating than most with my height and size. I wasn’t the enforcer for my club without reason. Someone started a fight, I could finish it, usually with them requiring a coroner when I was done.

“Are we going to eat here all the damn time just because you want to bang the hot little Hispanic girl?” Tempest asked. “Because the food is decent enough, but I’m starting to get tired of it.”

“No one said you had to come along,” I told him, my gaze still locked on Emmie.

“And miss it when you finally find your balls and go talk to her?” he asked. “No, until you man the fuck up and ask her out, I’ll just keep tagging along. Might be worth it if she shoots you down. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a woman turn you away, except that federal agent. That one over there, she doesn’t look like someone who would be interested in a guy like you.”

“Why’s that?” I asked.

“For one, she’s what? Five feet nothing to your six feet five? How the hell would that even work?” Tempest asked.

I looked over at him and raised a brow. “Really? Do you need lessons? Is that why you’re still single? Not keeping the ladies happy in the bedroom?”

Tempest flipped me off, and I went back to watching Emmie.

No one knew her story. I’d asked around, but she was a complete unknown. No family in the area, and I’d heard she was staying at some shit motel on the other end of town. It wasn’t safe, and I’d taken to driving by there when I knew she was going home from work. Even though I made sure she got into her room without any problems, it was impossible to guarantee her safety past that. Not unless I camped out at her doorstep all night.

The bell over the door jingled, and Emmie went deathly pale, dropping the plate she’d been carrying. It shattered at her feet, but she was frozen in place. My gaze locked onto the men who had just entered the diner. It was obvious she recognized them, even though I didn’t, and I made it my mission in life to know all the big players in town. These men with their expensive suits, three hundred dollar haircuts, and arrogance weren’t small fish. They also didn’t look all that young.

“Emelda, it’s time to do your duty,” one of them said.

“How did you find me?” she asked, her voice soft and shaky.

“That doesn’t matter. Your fiancé is here, and he’s willing to forgive this transgression,” the man said, waving a hand at the guy standing next to him.

Fiancé? I hadn’t noticed a ring on her finger in all the days I’d been here. And yeah, I’d looked. I might be an asshole at times, but I never poached. If I’d have thought she belonged to someone else, I’d have backed off. Not that I’d really made a move yet anyway.

“I’m not going with either of you,” she said, tipping her jaw up.

The men advanced on her, and I knew I had a decision to make. Stand back and let things play out, or step in and extract the little angel from a situation she clearly wanted to avoid. I didn’t know who these men were, but it didn’t matter right then. They scared her, and that put them at the top of my list of assholes who needed to disappear.

I pushed my chair back and made my way over to her, but she didn’t even look at me. Her hands were clenched at her sides, but I could see the fear in her eyes, and I was willing to bet these men could too. They came closer, pausing a moment as I stepped up behind Emmie. I wrapped an arm around her waist and hauled her back against my body.

“Everything all right, baby?” I asked. “These men bothering you?”

“Stay out of this,” the supposed fiancé said. “Emelda is mine, and if you know what’s good for you, you’ll just walk away. This is family business.”

“Family business?” I asked. “Then I guess I’ll just have to stick around, seeing as how Emmie is my woman.”

The way he looked at me, the heat of his body and the touch of his hands, was enough to make me want to beg for more. I wanted to experience everything with him, wanted his lips on my body, his cock inside me. Even though I was a virgin, I’d read enough and watched some porn that I thought I was prepared for what would happen between us. When he cupped my breasts and took first one nipple, then the other into his mouth, sucking hard on the tips, then grazing them with his teeth, I shuddered and wished we had fewer clothes between us.

I wanted to see him, to explore every inch of his body. The thought of exposing myself like this to someone had always frightened me, but not with Zach. With him, this just felt incredibly right. I remembered my mother once telling me that when you met your soulmate it was something you just knew. She’d had a wistful look on her face, and I’d thought at the time she was speaking of my father. As I got older, I realized that she could have never loved my dad and had probably been in love with another man at some point. I didn’t want to be like her, look back and realize I’d missed out on something great because I was too scared.

He rocked his hips against me and I felt the ridge of his cock. He felt huge and I worried a little that he’d be too big for me, but I trusted him not to do anything that would hurt me. He might be this big brute of a guy, and he claimed to have a violent side, but with me he’d been sweet and gentle. Even now, he kept his touch light enough that he wouldn’t bruise me. From what I’d learned from my roommates at college, most guys didn’t think about much other than themselves. At least the boys at school were that way. Maybe one day they’d become men like the one sending waves of pleasure through me.

“Zach,” I murmured, holding him to me as he sucked at my nipple again.

I squirmed, wanting more but not knowing if I should ask. Would he think badly of me if I said wanted things to go further? He said we were strangers, and we were, but he didn’t feel like a stranger. When he held me, it felt like I’d come home for the first time in my life, like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I didn’t think he wanted to hear that. Men didn’t like crap like that, did they?

“Please,” I begged. “Zach, I… I need…”

He nuzzled my neck, then licked at my jaw before kissing me. “What do you need?”

“More. I need more.”

Heat flared in his eyes and he tapped my thigh. I stood on shaky legs and Zach slowly reached for my pants, pausing with his fingers over the button. I gave him a nod and he unfastened my jeans and pushed them down my legs. I stepped out of them and he groaned as he stared at my plain panties. Lightly, he ran his fingers across the front of them before giving them a tug. They fell to the floor and I stood before him completely exposed. He licked his lips as he stared at my pussy.

“You shave the hair off?” he asked, his voice rougher than before.

“One of the girls at college talked me into going with her for a wax. I liked the way it felt afterward, so I kept going back,” I said. “Is that a good thing?”

“Really fucking good. I’ve heard it makes things more pleasurable for you.”

His gaze caught mine and he gripped my waist, then lifted me onto the table in front of him. He pushed my legs wide and I could feel myself opening to him. He groaned and stared before running his fingers down my slit.

“So fucking wet,” he said. “You ever played with yourself or used toys?”

My cheeks warmed. “No. At home I was too scared to try something like that, and at college I was never alone.”

“You’ve never had an orgasm, even by your own hand?” he asked.

“Christ, Emmie.” His eyes slid shut and his jaw went tight. “The things I want to do to you. You should tell me no, put your clothes on, and get the hell out of the kitchen. Go lock yourself in the bedroom or something.”

“What if that’s not what I want? What if I want you to do all those things to me?” I asked.

“You don’t know what you’re saying. If you could see the things I’m picturing, then you’d run.”

“Zach, I’m a virgin, not an idiot. I’ve watched porn and read erotic books. As long as you aren’t going to cause me pain, then I don’t care what you do to me. I don’t think BDSM would be my thing, but I trust you not to hurt me.”

He growled and stood so fast his chair tipped over. “You shouldn’t have said that, Emmie. I was holding on, barely, but I was managing. Giving me an open invitation wasn’t your wisest decision.”

I stared at him. “Maybe it’s exactly what I want. I’m probably the only twenty-one-year-old virgin at school. I want you, Zach. I trust you.”

Grease Monkey: A Bad Boy Romance

By Harley Wylde

Coming October 14th from Changeling Press

Once he had a taste of her passion, he knew he’d never let her go.

I’ve always been daddy’s little girl, or so everyone thinks, but what I’ve really wanted is to break free of my gilded cage. All anyone ever sees is some rich girl who gets what she wants, but that isn’t me. I hate my life and I’d give anything to experience true passion, even if it was just once. I’m a twenty-year-old virgin, and I have no doubt that daddy dearest is going to sell me to the highest bidder. Where’s a hero when you need one?

Women have always come easy to me, but there’s never been one that tempted me so much as the debutante stepping out of the silver Mercedes. One look at those gorgeous legs and all I can think about is having them wrapped around me while I make her scream my name. One way or another, she’s going to be mine.

WARNING: If you love sexy bearded men who talk dirty, be prepared to have your kindle melted. This is a highly erotic story with a case of insta-love.

About the Author

Short. Erotic. Sweet.

Harley’s other half would probably say those words describe her, but they also describe her books. When Harley is writing, her motto is the hotter the better. Off the charts sex, commanding men, and the women who can’t deny them. If you want men who talk dirty, are sexy as hell, and take what they want, then you’ve come to the right place.

When Harley isn’t writing, she’s thinking up naughty things to do to her husband, drinking copious amounts of Starbucks, and reading. She loves to read and devours a book a day, sometimes more.

Larissa is on the verge of complete insanity. She has grown up feeling a connection to the rural woodlands near her home. She has never been able to find what or who has been calling to her.

Dante comes from an ancient line of shifters whose sole purpose is to keep their charges safe from vampires. Dante is Larissa’s Protector. There are only two rules- never talk to your charge and never let them know that you are watching. Dante breaks every rule when it comes to Larissa when they are swept into a torrent of desire that threatens to consume them.

Will the price of breaking the rules to follow their hearts be too great? Hunters lurk in the forest. Vampires are coming. Dante is all that stands between Larissa and the monsters who want to make her one of them.

My latest story with Evernight is Always Midnight in the M/F Bad Alpha anthology.

Taryne Michael is all her younger brother Travys has ever had for stability. When fifteen-year-old Trav doesn’t come home after he fights with her she spends the next week searching for him. Something is very wrong and when she discovers he’s been transformed into a werewolf she’s at a loss as to what to do. The violent, angry boy isn’t the little brother she knows how to deal with. Teenage hormones are nothing compared to the animalistic young man emerging from the boy she’d raised.

Ax Greyson is a lone wolf, an alpha without a pack. He enforces laws non-shifters don’t know about. Celo Valley, is a place where two species co-reside. The werewolves keep the humans blind to their existence by being careful. Someone isn’t following the rules. Someone is killing, with no regard for secrets. When killing the woman seems like the only way to keep his people’s secret until Ax’s instincts find another way.

Beachwalk Blog Hop

A few years ago, we had a very memorable Halloween. One of my neighbors always makes his house the most festive on the block. He dresses up and hands out candy. The man is a nice as can be, but it’s clear he loves the morbid décor of Halloween. One year the kids wanted to decorate as much as he does and I told them they had to make their own decorations because I wasn’t investing in a million dollars worth of tombstones and skulls. They used cheesecloth and glue to make ghosts and hung them in the trees. Then they used some old Styrofoam to make tombstones and sprayed them black. The effect was great and our Halloween loving neighbor even came over to compliment the display.

Beachwalk Press will be sponsoring a grand prize giveaway which is: two $25 gift certificates to the winner's choices of Amazon, B&N, or All Romance Ebooks.

Three Good Years

When Beachwalk Press opened its doors three years ago, I was one of the lucky first authors in the door. Slave to His Desires was my first Beachwalk Press book, but not my last. I have a July release coming out this July titled Captivated. I never thought about it when I started to write this blog, but both of these stories feature women who’ve been kidnapped by aliens. Here’s a little taste.

Captivated by Ashlynn Monroe
Genre(s): Erotic Science Fiction Romance

Digital ISBN: 9781940744346

Length: Novella

Publication Date: July 21, 2014

Will Franny choose to live or just to survive?

Hardship, pain, and strife describes life on Utopia, a mining colony far from Earth. Women are a rare commodity. When an alien trade ship arrives with a cargo containing a human woman, every man on Utopia shows up to bid. Three friends pool their funds in the hope they'll have a human woman in their beds to keep them warm on the long nights of the coming harsh winter.
Francesca Dehart suffered the terror of aliens abducting her from a country road. The horror of being kidnapped and then sold as a sex slave is beyond anything Franny has ever imagined. With no hope of being rescued she finds herself with a new definition of hell—Utopia.
Can Cade, Nebraska, and Dawson show Franny her new life is more than a prison? They need her, but will she stay with them or run at the first opportunity? Can they hold onto the woman they've grown to love and protect her from the others who will stop at nothing to have her?

Cook County, Illinois, 2089

Music reverberated loudly through the interior of Francesca Dehart’s car. She rolled down a two-lane country road in the small electric car she’d rented to make the trip out of the city for the weekend. Franny glanced up at the sky. The black velvet above was dotted with stars. In the city, she never had the chance to see so much starlight.

It was beautiful. She didn’t need to rush, so she pulled over onto the gravel shoulder and parked next to a fenced pasture. The deserted expanse gave the city-girl inside of her the willies, but it wasn’t as if she had to worry about rapists and muggers in the middle of nowhere. Sure, there might be wildlife, but she doubted anything would bother her. She wouldn’t be out there long. Franny just wanted to see the night sky without light pollution from the city.

A momentary pang of fear made her heart race, but she managed to quell it. Chuckling to herself, she shook off the feeling of some watching her. Franny stood in the darkness, gazing skyward. It was tranquil, and she relished the quiet. Her trip had taken a toll, so this moment of peace was just what she needed. Standing there in the rural loneliness was a balm to her soul. She sighed and relaxed as her backside rested against the side of the car. A cool breeze ruffled her hair, and she closed her eyes. Nothing could be better than this, Franny thought.

There was a sonic boom and she cried out. A sudden flash of light caused her to turn and look up. The trees lining the road shook, and branches crashed to the ground. Five deer shot out of the woods and ran across the road with their white tails high in the air. They were so close to Franny she could see the terror in their eyes as they bolted through the rays of her headlights. Several other animals ran in the same direction the deer had gone. Watching the exodus in wonder, she stood immobilized. Her legs felt as if her feet had grown roots. She gasped as three bluish-green lights hovered in the air.

“Oh my God!” These visitors didn’t belong here. She didn’t see the military escort that accompanied aliens in Earth airspace. There had been no announcement about aliens in the area. Franny focused intensely on the lights. She expected them to fly away, but they didn’t. She stood frozen when a glow brightened the ground around her. Loose gravel and debris levitated and her car began to shake. Franny started to back away, out of the cylindrical illumination, slowly.

Her foot slipped on the dew-damp grass and she tumbled backward. Pain radiated through her head, and her teeth clicked as her jaws snapped together. Blinking up into the intense glow, the darkness vanished as she lay, bathed in bright, yellow luminosity. Franny squinted against the radiance and her eyes watered. Something tickled her neck and she realized she was bleeding, but that was the least of her worries right now.

Rubbing her eyes with one hand, Franny tried to clear her vision, but the lights went in and out of focus. Her body lifted. “No,” she moaned. Unconsciousness claimed her.

Why does your hero or heroine feel the need for the type of relationship they're in?

This is the way the mates in this world are set up, and usually it amounts to helping increase the emotional tension. Twice the love, twice the potential for letdown, twice the potential for strife, twice the potential for the hero to pull his shit together.

What does having two heroes or heroines do for them?

Creates balance. Humans are complex creatures and having someone who is logical and primarily emotional, while someone else is primarily emotional but logical also, helps that heart/head war we read about so much in romance.

Tell us a deep dark secret we'd NEVER expect!

I really don't have any secrets. People have known for years I'm a little off the wall, I cross dress, have a lingerie fetish, um…yeah. Pretty much nothing new here.

Batman or Superman

Batman. Always.

Which character is your favorite and why?

See now this leads into triad territory. When I created Józsi I sort of based him off Joséf from Endangered (you see the resemblance?) and Vin Diesel. But his two lovers differ tremendously from Joszí's in that Joséf's second (Isabella) is darker and probably more pragmatic than Lukina, but that may be the difference in age. Oh and the fact that vampires Livía and Isabella are a few hundred years old, whereas Lukina and Ilona are werewolves and far less old. I don't know. This was supposed to be simple! Who came up with these questions!

Why does your hero or heroine feel the need for the type of relationship they're in?

My heroes in this book have always shared their women. As best friends, they loved using their sexual skills to double a woman’s pleasure. Now, of course, they’re ghosts under a witches curse to fulfill the desires of the cottages owner.

What does having two heroes or heroines do for them?

For the heroes it’s a natural way of expressing their desires, an extension of their lifelong friendship. For my heroine, it’s the realization that it is possible to genuinely love two people in equal measures.

Tell us a deep dark secret we'd NEVER expect!

I’m currently writing a book that’s so hot, so boundary pushing, that I’ll have to find a new pseudonym to publish it under.

Batman or Superman

Batman. He’s tall dark handsome, mega rich, and has a tortured soul. My favorite type of hero.

Which character is your favorite and why?

I like Elly, my heroine. She’s coming up to her first Christmas after the loss of her parents, and it’s making her sad. Yet in the course of this book, she leaps into a relationship with two gorgeous ghosts, tries to discover a way to break a witches curse, and finds time to play matchmaker for her best friend at the same time. I do love a woman who can multitask…

Why does your hero or heroine feel the need for the type of relationship they're in?

For the shifters in Dragons’ Mate it is a mating imperative. For Annie the pair make her feel safe and both give her different things she needs. The three together complete each other.

What does having two heroes or heroines do for them?

The pair complements each other, completing a circle of love and protection that my heroine needs.

Tell us a deep dark secret we'd NEVER expect!

One of the few sexcapades I’ve never done is a ménage!

Batman or Superman

Superman because if I have to look at a man’s underwear on the outside I want to know there’s no skid marks! TMI? Sorry! ;)

Which character is your favorite and why?

I can’t choose! Brand is affectionate and always ready to cuddle. Tine is more the protector and aggressor. Annie is lucky to have them both!

Scent of a Mate

Mission: Scent a Mate

Jordan Alvarez knew that a promise to her best friend involved staking out the local wolf pack's scenting ceremony and recording the graphic details, but she was the writer and the only one with the balls to finish the task. No one would know that four human women had sneaked proof of their rituals, or at least, that was the plan until Aric Wolfe showed up.

Mission: Stake a Claim

Aric Wolfe knew his baby sister was up to something, and expected her best friend, Jordan, to be in on the chaos. He finally had an opportunity to lay claim to a mate that had been under his nose for years. Jordan's scent called to both the man and the animal, and he was done fighting the call of the beast. It was time to mark his mate.

Mission: Survive an Alpha

When a good intention creates a problem for the Wolfe family, Jordan finds herself being stalked by a woman intent on claiming Aric as her own. Battle lines will be drawn, love will be put to the test, and Aric will have to fight Jordan's strong personality to keep her alive. Two alpha hearts seeking control will either find the balance or risk losing their love forever.

A burst of wind shook the trees and kissed her skin. Electricity danced in the air, turning it thick with anticipation. Something cracked behind her. She swirled so fast her earpiece fell. Slowly taking in every dark crevice between the tree limbs, she looked for the noisemaker. Nothing. But she knew there was something out there. She could feel eyes watching her. No matter how hard she searched, nothing came out from the darkness. Dammit. She should have brought her mace, or her stun gun, or hell, even her bat. Something. But in her excitement she’d left all of her precautionary ass-kicking-survival-kit in her SUV.

She crouched down, quietly cursing the darkness, looking for her ear piece. A quick move from her left grabbed her attention. One very large, very angry looking brown wolf stood there, baring his teeth at her. She shot up to her feet, her hands immediately going into fists. She knew all the Wolfe’s in their wolf shape. With a white wolf for a mother and a black one for a father, all the men had some combination of black and white on them. She knew Aric’s by heart from secretly watching him all those times in her youth while he tore from his shorts to run with his brothers and friends. This was not one of the wolves she knew.

“Now you stay right over there and nobody gets hurt,” she whispered. Her mind ran a million miles per hour. She tried to figure out how to defend herself if it came down to a fight with the big wolf. Something poked her from behind. She grasped around, until she had her hands wrapped tight on the branch behind her, tugging until she broke a limb off.

A low growl was the animal’s only response. Heartbeats pounded hard in her chest, spreading the fear she was trying to tamp. He took a menacing step toward her. She didn’t know what the animal’s plan was, but her gut said it wasn’t a good one.

“Listen to me carefully, fur ball. You’re not going to turn me into puppy chow. Now go back to the party down there,” she cocked her head to the side, “and forget I’m up here. Got it?”

The wolf’s features turned darker, as if angered by her words. Trust her to piss off an already angry wolf. Nice.

A deeper growl made her jerk her head to the right. Another wolf stood there. His gaze locked on the brown. She knew this wolf. The thick black coat with the white paws and muzzle belonged to only one man. Aric.

The standoff was making her stomach queasy, and her stupid outfit was itching like crazy. Aric’s wolf took three steps and stood in front of her. The brown growled and launched toward them.

Oh hell.

Aric shoved the wolf off. The brown whimpered from a bite, but the stupid thing didn’t stop. It went for her again. Aric snarled, digging his paws into the brown fur and biting down on the brown’s neck. She winced.

With the branch in her grasp, she watched the brown lower its head in submission. Apparently that was enough for Aric. He let go of the wolf and turned to her. The brown took Aric’s distraction to jump in her direction, but she’d been watching the wolf closely. She had a feeling he wouldn’t give up so easily. Her vision sharpened, and she focused on the animal leaping toward her. She swung the branch with all her might and heard the sound of bone cracking as it made impact with the wolf’s face. He landed on his side with a thud. Aric stood and shoved at the other wolf, growling at it and snarling a warning. The other animal left, limping and whimpering. Every few steps he’d turn and glare at her.

The burst of adrenaline rushing through her made her continue to grip the branch. She stared at the location the other wolf had left through, waiting to see if he would turn around and attack. Something brushed her leg, taking her concentration from the other animal and bringing it back to the present. Shit. Aric had found her. She glanced down at the black and white wolf, which reminded her so much of a Dalmatian.

“Er… Aric?” She whispered. Her throat went dry. This was the man she’d wanted since forever and his muzzle was level with her privates.
